What is the Ohlone directory?
The Ohlone directory is the PTA’s tool for helping members of the Ohlone community find each other.
The Ohlone directory will be available online. The PTA uses an online system to give families a more convenient way to look up contact information and to update their own information as changes arise throughout the year.
The directory allows users to search by student name, parent name, grade, room, and teacher. The data in the Ohlone directory comes directly from the Palo Alto Unified School District (PAUSD) and is updated periodically throughout the school year.
The online directory is free to all families, teachers, and staff of Ohlone Elementary School. Paper directories are available to those who requested them at the beginning of the school year through the One Check Form that is included in the Back To School packets. (Free to dues-paying PTA members.)
Can I edit my information in the directory?
Yes! We encourage all families to review their contact information in the online directory right away and make changes as appropriate. You can choose what and how much information you would like to share in the directory. You can continue to make changes to the online directory throughout the year.
IMPORTANT – UPDATING CONTACT INFO:
- Any changes to contact information must also be made with PAUSD, by calling Central Attendance at 650-329-3707, visiting in person (household address changes), or updating via Infinite Campus (email address changes). If you make changes to the directory and do not also notify the district, your changes may be overwritten with the next data update cycle.
- Please also notify the Ohlone front office, eNews, and your class communications groups (Up to Us, Shutterfly, Konstella, etc.) with contact information changes.

How do I know my data is secure?
Only registered members of the Ohlone community have access to the directory. To view it, you must log in with a registered email address and a unique password. If you forget your password, you may use the password recovery link on the login page. Information contained in the directory may only be used for school-related activities, such as looking up a classmate’s family, setting up play dates and birthday parties, organizing field trips, etc.
How do I log in to the online directory?
The Ohlone directory uses the information that was provided to PAUSD in either the new registration process (for new students) or the Annual Data Update (for continuing students). Log in information will be provided once we have our directory updated with data for this year.
Why is my family not listed in the directory?
When registering or updating your data with the school district, all families are given the choice to “opt out” of being included in the school directory and receiving communications from the PTA.
If you selected “opt out” and would like to change this so that you ARE included in the school directory and you DO receive communications from the PTA, please contact your room parent who will help connect you to our Ohlone Konstella lead, and also email email@example.com stating that you would like to opt in to “PTA Contact and school directory.” Please include the name of your student(s) and your relationship to the student(s).
Can I use the online directory if I have chosen to “opt out” of being listed in the directory?
At this time, we encourage families to be listed in the directory if they wish to use the online directory. The system is set up to validate the email addresses of families who have chosen to be listed. If you have opted out of the directory and sharing your information with the PTA, it becomes difficult for the PTA to contact you directly and validate your email address. Though the PTA at each Palo Alto school site is in charge of publishing the directory, it’s important to note that being listed does NOT mean that you are joining the PTA, and families can always choose how much or how little information to share.
The Ohlone PTA encourages families to be included in the school directory so that you can more easily get in touch with other families (and vice versa) for activities such as field trips, celebrations, and playdates. All families who requested paper directories through the One Check Form, regardless of their choice to opt-out of being in the directory, will receive those paper copies.
Why can I not log in / Why does password recovery not work?
There could be several reasons for this. During the Annual Data Update with the school district, it’s possible that the family member that updated your household information did not enter an email address, entered a different email address than the one you are trying to log in with, or set your email address to be private (not shared with the school PTA). Try logging in to Infinite Campus and click on “Contact Preferences.” Make sure your email address(es) is/are correct and that you have checked the boxes to receive notifications.
